Sorrowful Angels Upcoming Videoclip "Suicidal Manners" shootings are over!
After a long 2-day session of shooting of our upcoming video "Suicidal Manners" we can already tell that this is something we are very proud of and will be among our best efforts to date.
We want to thank Vassilis Xrysanthopoulos, Plays2place and their cruew for their great work and enormous efforts for making this come true.
After a week's break, editing will begin and hopefully in the beginning of Aprill the video will be available.

Worldwide Release Party
Celebrating the re-release of our debut album "Ship In Your Trip" after being sold out a big party was organized in Jasmin Rock Club (Athens,GR) on 26/2/2010 where Sorrowful Angels along with special guests "The Fallen Within" perfomed in front of 250 friends of the bands. Thank you all for the support .

Sorrowful Angels in the 5th place of Metal Hammer Readers Poll
It is with great pleasure to announce that Metal Hammer's (GR) readers poll is over and we have been voted in the 5th place in the category of the best greek metal band.
The results are:

It is a great honour for us . We want to thank the readers of the magazine and of course the friends and supporters of the band who make our music to be heard!
Lineup Changes
We are sad to say that our friend and great drummer St. Jim will not be continuing with us anymore. Our relationships remain great and he is still a great friend and brother. We wish him best of luck with his future music pursuits.
His replacement will be Fivos Andriopoulos (Saddolls) which we plan of
having as a full member.

After approximately 1 year after the official release of "Ship in Your Trip" , Sorrowful Angels would like to announce that they will not continue their collaboration with Sleaszy Rider.
"Ship In Your Trip" will be self-rereleased under a new and improved edition. Contact us for any pre-orders or you will be notified shortly on where you can get a physical copy of the album.

Polish/Greek gothic/melodic metallers SORROWFUL ANGELS signed recently a deal with Sleaszy Rider for 3 albums. Debut album "Ship in your Trip " will be released soon. Except the amazing music of the band, we have to mention that the artwork was made by Natalie Schau (Lacuna Coil, Poisonblack, W.E.B., etc).

Rooted in the glooming territories of human expression, SorrowfulAngels is a Greek/Polish band that manages to put out a combination of influences which form the solid foundation of their Dark Heavy Rock power.
Originally formed in 1999, SorrowfulAngels gathered as friends sharing the same need for emotional expression and soon started to land gigs in the greek underground club scene presenting their initial atmospheric material and gradually making a name for themselves.
During these years the band gigs sporadically, while in 2002 they manage to land some more high-profile gigs, like the one in the Chania Rock Festival in Crete where they shared the stage with acts like Anathema, U.D.O, Crossover and Deviser.
Unfortunately, though, internal problems started occurring and the band was put into hiatus by the founder of the band, Dariusz S., until everything was settled. After that, the sound of silence plagued the SorrowfulAngels realm...
7 years later, after a long hiatus and numerous lineup changes the band is finally back fresh and strong. With a steady lineup now on which conststs of:

Fivos Andriopoulos - Drums
In 2009 they sign a record deal, enter the studio and finally record some brand new material making a very dynamic debut and signaling a new start as well as evolutionary changes in the composition.
Their first full album called "Ship In Your Trip", contains 10 darkly brooding melancholic songs which showcase how much the band has evolved throughout these painful years.
Along with the recordings , a videoclip of the song Denial directed by Bob Katsionis (Firewind) was made for the promotion of the upcoming album receiving very positive reviews.
During this same year the band continues to gig extensively throughout Greece, filling the gaps of the previous years.
They support Katatonia and Sirenia as well as Gothic Rock Icons, Star Industry, make appearances in the national TV stations, while at the same time are handpicked by legendary Claus Meine (Scorpions) himself to enter the final round of the Scorpions contest held in Greece. It was the first time ever in Greece that a Gothic Rock/Metal band ever achieved such an honor.
In February of 2010, Sorrowful Angels where voted as one of the 5 most important and promising heavy metal bands in Greeces Metal Hammer annual poll.
While a European Tour is on its way, things can only be interesting in the Sorrowful realm.

Dion was born in Athens, Greece on May 31, 1983. At the age of 5 he begins his Music Training (Piano, Music Theory, Counterpoint e.t.c.) . At age of 13 he receives his first (crappy) electric guitar and starts to experiment with the Rock sound .
Throughout the years he has been involved in noumerous projects that vary in musical direction.
Right now he works as freelance composer, producer and sound engineer as well as session player and dj.
His musical interests vary from electronic music to classical, jazz and death metal so its hard to describe although some influences include : Metallica, Porcupine Tree, Ulver, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Opeth, Slayer, Chopin , Bill Evans, AC/DC, Aphex Twin and the list goes on...
